I create stories that matter.
“System-as-a-Service solutions for business” may sound overcomplicated, but there is a story behind every mainframe and complex deployment pipeline. A customer story dictated by the customer’s needs.
My work as a product manager usually remains invisible due to non-disclosure agreements. With respect to that, I have shared some insights below about the stories I helped to uncover and bring to life.
Counting every second.
Imagine you’re stuck in a storm, your phone battery is about to die, and you urgently need an Uber. Also, your balance is low, and you need to clear the payment first. You open the mobile app and confirm the payment through your bank, and the technical challenge begins.
The product that processes your payments operates in a geo-distributed environment with millions of transactions running simultaneously. A complex network of queues maintains the integrity of your transaction. A distributed cache system with sophisticated integrity control updates your balance promptly and delivers this information from the data centre to the nearest base station.
And all this happens in less than 200 milliseconds. It works no matter what. The team under my leadership has achieved and maintained 99,92% yearly uptime of that system.
Cutting red tape with smart tech.
Picture yourself as a manager in a giant corporation. Your industry is highly regulated, and every mistake carries the risk of a severe penalty. It’s tough to keep track of all of the rules, right? And it’s not even your only job — as a manager, you are also responsible for your team.
Here’s where the automated compliance checker comes to the rescue. It connects to every system you use — Jira, Confluence, you name it — and tracks every action. Then, it breaks down complex regulations into simple, actionable rules. When you make a move, it’s instantly compared against these rules using a Natural Language Processing model. Violations? They’re flagged automatically, freeing up your time and mental space to lead your team.
By designing and implementing that compliance tool company-wide, my team cut management overhead costs by 20% annually over three years.
Harmonising cloud security.
Imagine you are a go-to-market manager working to present the company’s new seamless cloud solution to their customers. But every microservice in your solution has its own unique authorization protocol. How do you even start configuration in this scenario?
On this occasion, my team designed a unified security configuration tool to tackle this complexity head-on. By spending additional time to analyse discrepancies during the requirements collection phase, we minimised custom interfaces and upheld industry standards without losing contextual relevance.
Our tool was an absolute hit, and that solution… well, you may be using it right now.
How do I work?
My process is based on innovative technology, customer-centred design and data-driven insights. It begins with a deep understanding of the customer’s needs and problems, laying the foundation for everything I do.
I then collaborate with the technical and design specialists on the team to create solutions that are not only effective but also intuitive and friendly and respectful of our customers. The final step of my process is always customer research to ensure the product addresses the customer’s needs.
My principles.
Love and Know Your Product. Never stop learning about your product and its nuances, market conditions, limitations and opportunities for innovation.
Data Quality Defines Product Quality. It’s not just about having data; it’s about having the correct data in pristine quality. Always check the source of information you use to make decisions.
Customers Come First. Put yourself in your customer’s shoes; talk to the people who use your product. Their needs are your guiding star. Every feature and update should resonate with them.
